About the Index
As the Greatest of All Time, Muhammad Ali excelled in much more than just boxing. Ali had a history of humanitarian efforts to his name.
All the way back to Ali’s first professional fight, he was constantly giving back. His earnings from the fight against Tunney Hunsaker in 1960 went to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY to help treat children who had been diagnosed with polio.
His goodwill and generosity continued on throughout his life. Ali stated, “I wanted to use my fame and this face that everyone knows so well to help uplift and inspire people around the world.”
The Muhammad Ali Index was created to forward Ali’s humanitarian legacy – to continue the efforts in lifting up and create a more connected world.
